Trains, planes, and automobiles

Well, perhaps not trains yet, but a love of aircraft has produced designs and models for various crafts, some sent to DARPA for an SBIR application.

With team members having worked in Detroit as automotive engineers, there are also automotive designs sketched out. Some of these, such as a Harley engine redesign are moved to a separate site.

Homes and furnishings

There is more interest in modest housing here than grandiose buildings more suited to interior decorators than civil engineers. Cost, maintainability, and operating cost are stressed over swoopy walls and fixtures.

Once you design a home, you have to put some furniture inside it. Sometimes that is a simple media center to edit videos, other designs are chairs and indoor greenhouses to grow your spices.

Electronics

Rako Studios got its start as electronics consultants. Accordingly, there is a wealth of electronic design in this section. There are designs for military, scientific and industrial products. There are also a few forays into consumer electronic design. Some of the software here was done in concert with and electronic hardware design.

Machinery

Expanding beyond electronic design, Rako Studios also does the design of machinery and industrial components. A large project was the retrofitting of a milling machine to use a modern three-axis controller, with expansion capability to six independent axis.
